Bio

Mahyar Mandegar is an Iranian writer, director, and editor based in Los Angeles. His short film WHITE WINGED HORSE premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2020 and was an official selection at EnergaCAMERIMAGE. His recent short IM FINSTERN received the ASC Student Heritage Award.

His work as an editor has been shown at numerous festivals including Venice Film Festival, Palm Springs, and Melbourne International Film Festival.

Mahyar holds a BA in film from the Art University of Tehran and an MFA in directing from the AFI Conservatory. He was also part of an exchange program with the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in which he made the documentary MARGARINA BAILARINA.
